lyrics
enemies then were future friends
if I know anything, I’ll get it wrong again
kids with the grandest schemes
then we’re caught up again in the machine
the alarm clock sounds, breaks the hush
and I will rush again to beat the rush
we were feathers on the breeze
we got caught up again in the machine
and my only fight is for a seat and
my coffee high my daily peak
we were feathers on the breeze
and then we forgot how to dream
and I’d just know how to dream
if I remember when I fell asleep
I close my eyes and start to breathe
and I hear everything, remembering
how to dream
back at home, dead on my feet
and then I crash again and fall asleep
we’re all feathers on the breeze
and we’re together in the same machine
enemies then could be old friends
if we knew anything, we’d make amends
we grew up on the same street
why do we find it hard to remember
how to dream
and I’d just know how to dream
if I remember when I fell asleep
I close my eyes and start to breathe
and I’d just know how to dream
(the alarm sounds and breaks the hush)
if I remember when I fell asleep
(and I will rush again to beat the rush)
I close my eyes and start to breathe
and I hear everything, remembering
and I hear everything, remembering
how to dream
I first heard Katie Spencer on YouTube when she was featured on the For Bert Jansch playlist. Katie played her own song called Shannon Road. The lead break that she plays twice really got my attention. I became a fan instantly. Every track on this album is lovely. The whole listening experience is like a favourite film running through my head. I'm so glad that in my twilight years I discovered Katie. I wish her a long and succesful career in music. Mitch Wild
Well gosh, Boo. That really is an album!
The first time through was wonder and delight. Now it’s just a matter of installing it into my DNA. And so repeat play is engaged. You’ve done it again! warren wigutow
